FULL NAME: Miss Piggy, not unlike Cher, not unlike Madonna.

BIRTHPLACE: A farm. In Idaho or Iowa. One of the “I” states.

AGE: She won't tell. “My little secret,” she says.

HEIGHT: Tall enough to reach the cookie jar.

HAIR COLOR: Luscious honey-blonde.

EYE COLOR: Rarest baby blue.

WEIGHT: Her second little secret.

SIBLINGS: She was an only pig.

EDUCATION: Charm School and a correspondence course in karate.

PROFESSION: Artiste.

More Miss Piggy and the Muppets Facts

The term 'Muppet" comes from combining marionette and puppet (although there are those who dispute that).

For the first year of The Muppet Show, Miss Piggy, like all the other Muppets, wore the same outfit – a silver lounge dress. It took some convincing, but Frank Oz eventually agreed that having a variety of costumes would add depth to her character.

Miss Piggy started out as just another member of the chorus until someone rubbed her the wrong way and she let him have it! Her potential as a star emerged with that karate chop.

Muppeteers each have a small TV monitor which they watch to be able to see how their Muppet looks from the audience's point of view.

To film the water ballet in “The Great Muppet Caper,” Frank Oz had but a week of training with underwater equipment, then spent a week under water while Miss Piggy swam with the girls. He ended up with a bad ear infection.

When they need to film a Muppet crowd scene, everyone around (camera men, wardrobe people, stage hands, etc.) each man two Muppets.

Contrary to popular belief, Miss Piggy cannot bat her eyes.
